Supported Independent Living (SIL) in Brisbane, Ipswich, Springfield & Logan

Supported Independent Living is the day-to-day support that makes living in your own place work — help with routines, meals, personal care and running a household, delivered on a roster rather than ad hoc. Some people need a few hours each day; others need someone there overnight or around the clock. We build the roster around the level of support you actually need, and we are upfront about what we can staff consistently before anything is agreed.

What this covers

What supported independent living includes

A shift is shaped around what you need that day, not a fixed checklist. These are the things our workers most often help with.

  • Rostered support in your own home or a shared home
  • Help with morning and evening routines, meals and medication prompting
  • Personal care delivered by workers matched to your preferences
  • Support to run the household — shopping, cleaning, laundry, bills
  • Overnight support, active or sleepover, where we can staff it reliably
  • Help sorting out housemate issues early, before they become a problem
  • Working alongside your support coordinator, plan manager and allied health team

Is this right for you?

This support may suit you if…

We assess every enquiry properly before we take it on — including whether our workers can safely and reliably meet what you need. If the answer is no, we will tell you honestly rather than sign you up and struggle.

  • You have SIL funding in your plan, or are being assessed for it
  • You live in, or are moving into, a home across Brisbane, Ipswich, Springfield or Logan
  • You want a consistent rostered team rather than a different agency worker each shift
  • Your support needs can be safely met by our workers’ current training and qualifications

Common questions

Supported independent living — questions people ask

What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?

SIL funds the support workers who help you with everyday tasks in the home you live in — cooking, cleaning, personal care, medication prompting and getting your day started. It generally applies where support is needed for much of the day, often including overnight. Importantly, it pays for the support, not the house.

Do you provide the housing as well?

No. We provide the support; we are not a housing provider. Where you live is funded and arranged separately — through Specialist Disability Accommodation, a private rental, family housing or your own home. If you are still working out where you will live, tell us and we will point you to the right people.

Can I get SIL support if I live on my own?

Yes. SIL is often associated with shared houses, but it can be delivered in a home you live in by yourself. What matters is the level of support you need day to day, not how many people live there. Your plan sets out what is funded for your situation.
